Finding Us

Our cottages lie outside of the nearby village of Alwinton, with a tree lined path from the road leading down to our quiet, relaxing setting. If you are using a SatNav to reach us then our postcode NE65 7BE should take you right to us but for more specific directions we have a short description below.

The A689 is the last of the A roads heading towards Low Alwinton Cottages and leaving it is the last major turn off, if you're travelling north to us you will need to take the turn off to the B6344 shortly before Longframlington. This is just after crossing the bridge over River Coquet and signposted to Rothbury and Paperhaugh. This road goes straight on through the town of Rothbury, a great place to get any last minute supplies. The road after Rothbury becomes the B6341 and passes through Thropton before coming to a 3 way junction where you will need to take the rightmost turn. Following the road will take you through Sharperton and Harbottle, then less than 2 miles from Harbottle you will cross the bridge spanning the River Coquet. On the right hand side, just after the bridge you will find our sign and the path into Low Alwinton Cottages.

For guests travelling south to our cottages you will need to turn off the A689 just before reaching Powburn, signposted for Fawdon and Branton. Foolow this road for 22 miles, through Branton, passed Netherton and Newton. At the end of this road is a 3 way junction which you will need to take a left turn and a short drive down will take you passed St Michaels Church and then our cottages are just after on the left hand side.
